Ex Amish girl’s phenomenal journey intrigues host of an international TV program
FORT WORTH, TX, July 07, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ — Struggling with the beliefs of the Amish traditions, religion, and her upbringing, Emma Gingerich made the decision to leave her Amish family and community in Eagleville, Missouri. She was eighteen years old when she fled across the country to a family in Harlingen. The emotional turmoil that she would unknowingly inflict upon herself, family and friends, gut-wrenching, but the physical abuse, hardships, trials and tribulations that she endured at times after her departure, heartbreaking.
Finding the courage, strength, and relying on her faith, Emma found her freedom. Leaving the Amish with only an eighth-grade education, she made her education a priority. Determined to learn the English language, she received her GED and set her sights on her next goal, college. Ms. Gingerich not only earned a Bachelors degree but held down a full-time job and managed to write her memoir, continue her education, and eventually receive an MBA.
Emma Gingerich will now fly to Australia to prepare for her interview with the host of a current affairs type show. Her book Runaway Amish Girl: The Great Escape has inspired, motivated, and touched thousands of people, women, girls, and young men, of all ages. A young girl who decided to leave the Amish community, receive an education, who overcame physical abuse and hardships that most will never face in their entire lives.
